BAIT/LURES USED ------- Rapalas & Hooley-Gooleys.

NOTES --------------------- It was one of those nights that inspire us to continue fishing Lake Hopatcong. As we moved from location to location, the action was immediate. At times, landing fish on the 1st or 2nd cast! Ken had the high hook, as I captained "Everybody", with 4 Walleye, 3 Largemouth Bass and a Rock Bass. All the Walleye weighing in at 2 to 4 Lbs. and up to 23". The biggest Bass weighed in at 2 Lbs. 1 Oz. and 16", and the Rock Bass was a very healthy 9 Oz. My strategy for the night was to have Ken catch plenty-o fish and I was very successful! He's a 1st year KDC member and I am now done teaching him how to spell "Fishing". By the way, I caught 1 nice Walleye of 3 Lbs. and a Smallmouth Bass that looked, by the size of it, like it was hatched last week. Over.

NAME --------------------- Bob Gatti #7483

DATE ---------------------- 10/3/00

TIMES --------------------- 7am-2pm

CONDITIONS ------------- Rain early then sunny and breezy 74

AREA FISHED ------------- Barnes and boat docks

FISHING METHOD ------- live line and slip bobbers

BAIT/LURES USED ------- herring and 1/32 oz. jig and twister tail

NOTES --------------------- Fished with live bait in front Of Barnes Marine for four hours caught one Hybrid 6lbs. 11oz. and 23" long. What a great fish, the only bite I had on livebait. It has to be the hardest fighting freshwater fish I have ever caught, it took about ten minutes to bring him to the net. I caught about two dozen perch crappie and bluegills around the boatdocks on the small jig, white being by far the best color. This is my second trip, its about 90 miles one way to Hopatcong but it was worth the trip.
