NOTES --------------------- Caught one pickerel in the morning over by the Windlass, and then didn't catch anything for another 6 hours. At around 1:30 we were drifting some herring across the cove past Chestnut Point and my buddy caught a nice muskie (15 lb?). Good way to end the summer.

NOTES --------------------- Fished without a hit until 9am,then got a total of five striper hits between 9am and 10am. I caugth 2 fish, one between 7.5lbs and 8lbs and the other a little shy of 5lbs. Hooked two other fish, one average and the other a bruiser, but the hooks pulled out. Around 11am I anchored off of Halsey Island (where I caught 5 smallmouth the week before) in 20 feet of water and caught a small one, around a pound, and missed another. Packed it in around noon.

NOTES --------------------- I brought my nephew out for the contest and had a nice night watching the Perseid Meteor shower and catching some fish. Zach saw his first shooting star (meteor) and caught his first walleye. I counted 28 shooters between 10pm and 3am, some were pretty spectacular! In total we caught 16 bullhead, 2 walleye, a snapping turtle, and a channel catfish big enough for 2nd place in the contest. Here's some pics:

NOTES --------------------- Not much luck, as the fish finder died on us (if that's ever happened to you, you'd know it's NOT a good thing). :( Eventually, we caught some small cats and Al had a really nice smallie. One cat was caught at Brady, two others at Nolans Pt. The smallmouth was hooked, landed and released at Elba Pt.

NOTES --------------------- Stayed at Elba anchored up whole time.Started with live lining herring to no avail then put the smallest split shot I had on.Five minutes later got a 5 3/4 lb Striper.Stayed till I ran out of herring got two more both over six lbs.Kept one for the table and released the largest two.Surprised to see hardly no one there.
