NOTES --------------------- One of those day's, to start off the day my son knocked off the fuel vent cap at the launch dock. After some unsuccesful recovery diving decided to use the ever popular tinfoil ball. After 2 hours of unsuccesful trolling Rogues and Rattletraps with the riggers dedcided to switch to Muskie trolling but not before losing a 10 lb ball (broke at the swivel).. Was nothing more than a bait washing for 2 hours although did mark quite a few open water fish and a floater near Byram(approx 38 to 40"). Spent the last hour and a half livelining Herring at Cowtongue and Sunken Island. All that produced were a couple smallmouth a crappie, a rock bass and a bullhead. One of our worst outings if not the worst of the season. Cant wait for the cooler water temps and less boat traffic, wakes were horrible even in the coves till 8 p.m....C'mon fall!

NOTES --------------------- I trolled for muskie again hoping to help a friend catch one, but had no luck. Time to gear up for this weekend's catfish contest! Later in the day some kids showed me a big bug (2 or 3 inches long) at one of the lake's beaches where my family swims. After a little research it turns out it was a Dobsonfly, which I'd never heard of or seen before. Here's a picture of one:
