WATER TEMPERATURE-- around 52degrees
FISHING METHOD ------- Lures
BAIT/LURES USED ------- Blue Fox Number 1
NOTES --------------------- We started at Lake's End. I was fishing with my cousins and my dad. Within ten minutes the first fish was caught. My dad had cought a Striper. Around 1-1/2 to 2lbs.. He threw it back. Many Crappie's and a couple sunny's. My dad was the only one to catch a trout. The trout was a rainbow. Maybe a 1lb. Then we headed for the Mud Hole. Nothing there. So we went to Espanong Bridge. No fish caught. So we went for Brady's. I was the only one to catch anything. I got a 2lbs. crappie, so it felt. Pretty big in size. We tried to go to Lake's End to weigh it in to see if it was actually 2lbs. because Johnny's was closed, So was Dow's. When we got there it was closed. So we let him go. We decided to take acouple casts, but nothing. So we decided to call it a day. Otherwise a preety good day! Maybe better catch next time.

After a nice fight we boated a 5 lb largemouth. Too bad the season closed the week before so she couldn't even be weighed in. She's back in the lake to fight another day

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Gold Phoebes
NOTES --------------------- Didn't get my boats in until Sun. so missed the opener. Vinny fished all day on the opener and got zilch. He had helped us stock the Wed. prior so was real disapponted. I got home early Tues. so invited him to go to teach him a few indian tricks for early season trout. Boated three brown trout, all KDC 2 w/ tags and one missing, lost two others. Fish were 12-14 inches. All so picked up a decent pickerewl and a huge slab sided crappies, at least 1 1/2 lbs.. Vinny's hooked now. Anybody getting many state fish? They stocked 2,600 supposedly and I'm sure by the size all five trout we hooked were KDC fish. All fish released. Not bad for the first hour and a half of the season.

FISHING METHOD ------- trolling
BAIT/LURES USED ------- rapala and phoebes
NOTES --------------------- Had a great time with Jimmy. Fished all these spots. Caught 11 trout. The key today was speed. If you did 2.4mph you could catch. I tries 1.8 to 2.7 in .1 mph increments. But 2.4 or flashing to 2.5 and back was the only speed to catch. Phoebe (gold and red) on the longest line cought 3 trout. An assortment of #7 rapala's caught the rest. Some of the rapalas had turned down noses. Most released because of club 05 tags. Caught 1 largemouth by brady bridge. Same speed. Rapala's all light colors(white silver and black or largemouth). O by the way Jimmy details cars. Any question e mail me.

NOTES --------------------- I finally got the boat in the water and with all this rain I didn't have very high hopes as far as fishing goes. The pickerel had the feed bag on though. I had a double at one point and before I unhooked the second fish, a third was on. Caught 18 total. Lures with bright colors and rattles were the key, I used big Firetiger Husky Jerks on short lines and Berkley Frenzies on the longer lines.
