CONDITIONS ------------- Sunny and warm with calm water.
AREA FISHED ------------- Pine Tree Point, Sunken Is. and Davis Cove
WATER TEMPERATURE-- Warm
FISHING METHOD ------- Bait
BAIT/LURES USED ------- Herring, shiners and baby crawlers
NOTES --------------------- Had nothing by Byram, but when we moved to Davis cove, we marked many baitfish on the finder and eventually, the predators arrived. Al was taken by surprise (an understatement) when his light action rod with 4lb. test line doubled over with his drag screaming. He lost the fish after a minute or so and it must've been a striper, but the cool thing about it was that he had a crawler on that rig. I've NEVER heard of a hybrid hitting a worm. Very exciting indeed. In terms of myself, I hooked and landed two small channel cats on my medium action rod using herring as bait.
