NOTES --------------------- Another slow day for me. Caught some small smallmouths, small pickerel and a bunch of perch. Finally caught a 16.5" Brown on a herring in Great Cove. But I did net a recently deceased 40" Tiger Muskey out in the main lake. It had hook marks in it's jaw. It was a beautiful fish in full color. Too bad.

NOTES --------------------- Like the rest of the world, I too have little time and as I live close to the lake (Ogdensburg) I have never fished the lake, maybe 2 times. I joined the club this year to learn about the club, the lake and to perhaps assist in some of the outings. Today, however I am seeking to learn the lake, how to fish it. I have a 17' boat on a trailer with a 9.9 outboard (so I don't think I can get to far to fast) and a 55 lbs trolling motor. My boat has 5 raised seats and a fish finder, what I don't have is knowledge of where and how to or when. Is there anyone in the club that would welcome a 52 year old fisherman, that like the rest of us would also like to catch some fish and want to come along with me? Kindly reply or call. Thanks!
Best wishes to all, and who knows, maybe someday I too can be a fan of the lake.

CONDITIONS ------------- sunny, windy
AREA FISHED ------------- Great Cove, Pickerel Point
WATER TEMPERATURE-- 64
FISHING METHOD ------- drifting, anchored
BAIT/LURES USED ------- herring,spinners
NOTES --------------------- Drifted Great Cove today with herring, but only managed a load of expensive yellow perch. They were suspended in about 40 feet of water, 20 feet down. No trout or hybrids, even though I marked alot of decent-sized fish under the schools of herring. Anchored off Pickerel Point to get out of the wind for awhile. Caught a nice 2.2 lb rainbow on a herring. Fished a Panther Martin spinner near San Bar Marina on my way back to the dock and caught a bunch of yellow perch and pickerel to end the day. All fish released.
