NOTES --------------------- It was the most beautiful day on the ice and probably our last this year. Caught a few pickerel, all between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 lbs and a couple of perch. Scott's pickerel, Pat's catch of the day (not really) and the gang, John, Laura, Pat and Scott on, most likely, our last day on the ice.

NOTES --------------------- Before we finished setting up, a flag went up. My son, John, was jigging nearby and had a viscous strike almost simultaneously. During the battle on the tip-up, John's jigging line snapped. As the behomth swam under the hole, I knew this wasn't going to be easy. The second time he swam by, we saw John's jig in the corner of the Muskie's mouth. After several attempts to turn the fish's head into the hole, followed by a long run each time, I sent John back to the car for the gaff. (good place to leave the gaff)About the same time that John made it to shore, I managed to slide the monster onto the ice. A few nearby anglers came over to see the fish and snap a few pictures prior to it's realese. The remainder of the afternoon, produced a few more flags and two perch. The trip was well worth it!!!!!!!!

NOTES --------------------- Ice fishing was a great way to spend Valentine's Day with my daughters. We all had a great time and caught lots of fish. We went through 5 dozen shiners and had to get 2 dozen more from Johnny's Marina and Bait when we weighed in some pickerel and Sarah's 1 lb. perch. Working 18 tip-ups for me and the three girls was tougher than I thought. One time we had 2 tip-ups with fish on and Sarah jigged up a pickerel at the same time. The wife was cracking up watching me run back and forth trying to decide which way to go, man it wore me out! Thanks for the help keeping things going Doug. We ended up with a dozen pickerel and 2 dozen perch.

NOTES --------------------- Started off with a nice 25" Pickerel. Slowed down, and then a small LargeMouth, Pickerel, and a few Perch. Followed by a major disappointment when I hooked what felt to be the largest fish through the ice I can remember. Lost him just below the hole but could not tell if it was a Muskee or Pickerel. I walked away with my hand bleeding from the line burn. Oh Well! Maybe next time.

NOTES --------------------- It was much easier walking after the rain had packed the snow on the ice. All we had were several small Perch on the jigs. Never saw the best fish of the day, about ten feet from the hole my leader broke at the knot, the fish felt real good.
