This month my boat got 82 trout, 3 holdover. I fished 52 hour. caught 48 browns,20 brookies( ontly one under 15inches), 13 rainbows and 1 tiger. Is any one catching tigers. I know I lost a gaint tiger but otherwise only 1 caught.

NOTES --------------------- A straggler fishing day. No more than 3 fish caught from any one spot. Usually just one from most spots. All fish caught trolling at medium speed. None caught casting. All the fish came from similar areas, slightly deeper depressions up on the weedy flats. For example, a 7 foot deep slot surrounded by 5 foot flats, if that's of any help to anyone? I did not check any deeper than 15 feet out on the breaklines to deeper water. For today, 1 pure strain musky (not quite legal), 3 largemouth bass to 2 3/4 lbs., 5 pickerel (nothing big), a hand-full of nice perch and 1 white perch. The area just out from Prospect Point produced the musky and the better bass.

Caught 2 browns. Let them go. Also got 5 pickerel. Best April on my boat for trout. Only the first hour productive, then the weather got colder.

NOTES --------------------- Had good action from assorted muskies on a very wet, cold, windy day. (perfect muskie weather) First fish was a tiger that I estimated to be 38", but was long released (lost) after he smashed my bait at boatside and took a few laps around the boat. Next I tangled with a 40" true strain which was water released after I clipped a few hooks. Just before noon, I landed a 37" tiger which was also released.
All fish were active on emerging weed edges containing large schools of baitfish. They were all healthy clean fish. I just started learning the lake but like what I see so far. If anyone who knows the lake VERY well would like to trade some lake expertise for some muskie expertise, send me an email at XXFGH@aol.com.

One swimming near Sharp's Rock and then a (mated?) pair over the deep water out from Raccoon Island. Look and, in particular, listen for their haunting calls. Enjoy!

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Rat L Trap, Fat Heads and Nightcrawlers
NOTES --------------------- It was cold and windy when me and my buddy arrived at my parent's summer home at the Lake and the fishing ended up being terrible. The wind made it impossible for us to get our baits out and the cold water/air kept the fish far away from the dock. Wish I had a boat. Oh well. I guess the fishing will heat up in another month or so when the water gets warmer. Good luck to all!
P.S. I'm glad to see the water level has come up a good bit over the last couple of weeks. Should keep the state from drawing out if it keeps raining, which it will be doing on Sunday. Hopefully it will keep up.

One had a tag removed from it's fin in the past. Two had tags(kdc-01-1720 21 inch brown just over 3 lbs njdfm c7762 16inch brown 2lbs). I also lost a large brown at the boat with a tag in her back. Very large close to 6lbs. Caught 2 more browns both 16 inches and this years stockers. Caught 3 brookies from the same school I' ve been killing this week. Lost 2 more brookies from the same school. Lost a large tiger trout boy do these fish fight. Along the way I caught 5 pickerel and 1 perch. Had my Hat blow over board while fighting a fish. When I finally got it back it was minus one of my kneedep pins. All browns were returned to lake. I need a bigger cooler to hold fish alive. Didn't wiegh the brown because I didn't want it to die. Keep trolling the fish are there. My last 20 trout have all been kneedeep type fish. Where are the nomal state stockers.
