NOTES --------------------- Caught 40 or so perch with some bluegills mixed in. No real hog perch this week, but still decent. Best part of day was catching 24 inch 4 pound pickeral on jigging rod and 2 lb. test line. With the help of Joe and Fred (thank you) we got him out the hole.

NAME --------------------- George & Daniel

DATE ---------------------- Feb. 20, 2001

TIMES --------------------- 11AM - 2:30PM

CONDITIONS ------------- Mild Temp 50's but 20mph steady wind

AREA FISHED ------------- Between Windlass and Halsey Island

FISHING METHOD ------- Tip-up and Swimming Jig

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Shiners

NOTES --------------------- Took my son out for a few hours of fishing in the warm weather. Problem was 20mph winds that whipped us with ice-cold air that came off the frozen lake. Not very comfortable at all!! Tip ups in 8 - 15 ft. of water yielded no fish. Jigging near the bottom in 5-8 feet of water produced a single perch. All in all not my best day of ice fishing.

CONDITIONS ------------- Sunny and some wind

AREA FISHED ------------- Coves

FISHING METHOD ------- Jigging

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Jig and wax worm

NOTES --------------------- Had another great time fishing my favorite lake. Caught 30 perch with some bluegill mixed in. Perch went to 12 and 1/2 inches. A friend Bob also caught at least 25 to 30 perch to 13 inches.

NAME --------------------- Lou Marcucci, John Fernandez, Fred Nitek, Tim Clancy, Jim Archambault, Danny and his cousin

DATE ---------------------- 2/17

TIMES --------------------- 4-8pm

CONDITIONS ------------- Windy

AREA FISHED ------------- Sunken Island

FISHING METHOD ------- Tip-ups and jigs

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Shiners

NOTES --------------------- We got out before sunset and drilled our holes in hopes of getting into some walleye. We had the entire island covered by a grid of flags. The wind was beating on us like Mike Tyson. The perch were biting here and there and finally at around 6pm a flag went off with something other than a perch. We finally landed a walleye through the ice about 20 inches in length. Spirits were high but they dimmed with the daylight with no other flags for the night, just more wind. We tried the same thing the next night but only got more perch and a small pickerel.

Bad shot of walleye caught that night, the flash didn't work.

NAME --------------------- George

DATE ---------------------- Fri. Feb 9th 2001

TIMES --------------------- 10AM - 3 PM

CONDITIONS ------------- Overcast with no wind and mild temps (Mid 40's)

AREA FISHED ------------- Between Windlass Rest. & Halsey Island 5-15 feet deep

FISHING METHOD ------- Tip-ups & Swimming Jigs

BAIT/LURES USED ------- Shiners & Mousies

NOTES --------------------- Started putting out tip ups in shallow water and worked my way out to the deeper section, using shiners just off the bottom. Had just finished setting up my 3rd tip-up and was walking off to drill another hole when the flag went off. The air was calm so I knew it wasn't a wind flag". Turned out to be a 24 inch - 4 LB. pickerel. Great way to start the day! Unfortunately, it would have been a good way to end the day too. I stayed out till 3PM without any more fish on tip-up or jigs!
