FISHING METHOD ------- Trolling with home made flies and the Deck Arm by Exxcell Welding
BAIT/LURES USED ------- Home made flies
NOTES --------------------- Myself my son Tim and my wife first tried the night bite with no luck, as soon as the sun came up we searched around and found a school of stripers boated 9 and had 4 bigger ones snap the cheap spiderwire ez fluorocarbon line I bought trying to save money. Never again! I went to Seagar 20 lb with no problems. Every pass over the school with the Deck Arm jigging my fly I was catching fish. I even sent another guy into the frenzy with one of Dow's rental boats. He cast 3 poles out and all 3 hooked up at the same time. This guy wish he had 6 arms. 1 rod under each armpit and the other reeling away he managed to land 2 out of the 3. It was hilarious. The storm was coming in big black clouds time to run for cover. Back at it again tomorrow God willing.

AREA FISHED ------------- Elba, Davis, Bonaparte, Byram, Pickerel Point
WATER TEMPERATURE-- 74
FISHING METHOD ------- anchored
BAIT/LURES USED ------- herring, jigs, nightcrawlers
NOTES --------------------- Picked fish all day long, but had to work hard for them. One hyrbid, missed another, a couple of smallmouths, crappie, white perch and bluegills. Finally around 3:30 I got into a school of Hybrids near Pickerel Point and caught several fish from the mid teens (inches) up to 20/22". I ran out of live herring but I always save the dead ones and continued to catch fish on half herring fished two feet off the bottom in 20 feet of water. I could have caught more than the 15 I did, but ran out of bait. Another good day on the lake. I'm surprised how few fisherman are out there.

NOTES --------------------- Had a productive day with the stripers on Sat so I asked my buddy Roger Rojas if he wanted to go out Sunday. We anchored up and had the smallest rod with a bait runner start to scream off line so I picked up the rod set the hook and said to Roger you take the first one,I had a lot of fish yesterday. He did and five seconds later this huge fish flew entirely out of the water and set our hearts a pumping. Was not sure what it was and we had to wait for about 15 minutes to see the nice muskie finally rise to the surface and get into the net.Turned out to be 47 inches on a 6 ft rod with 8 lb test.He did not fare too well from all the stress and I had to revive him in the water for about 10 minutes before he could swim on his own. That was the only fish of the day but Roger won`t forget that one soon.
